The Boku Abel washing station is located in the western part of the Guji zone, on perhaps the highest plateau in the Hambela Wamena district. Esayas Beriso, a former government official, grows coffee near the village of Boku (or Buku) at an extreme altitude of 2,350 metres above sea level. Esayas joined the coffee business started by his brothers as a station manager, and in 2009 he established his own coffee farm. Esayas's coffee beans, due to the locally grown heirloom varieties and the farm's unprecedented high-altitude, are super-tiny and high-density.
