Two brothers, Hernan and Eugenio Prieto Soto are the owners of the Villa Clabelina farm. The 22-hectare finca is located in the Anioquian Andes, near the city of Bolívar and it is home to about 105,000 Caturra and Colombia coffee trees. The brothers are members of the local Coffee Growers Association, a group of farmers producing high-standard quality coffee with fair prices and economic, social and environmentally sustainable work. After manual harvesting, the entire coffee processing, from controlled fermentation to slow drying, takes place on the farm. The brothers, with the help of Juan Saldarriaga, an expert from the growers’ association, improved their processing methods and the infrastructure of the plantation, new drying buildings were built, which, in addition to the more controllable process, also allowed honey and natural processing.
