Primavera
GUATEMALA
Smallholders often produce lots that aren’t large enough to be exported on their own. However, the quality is often just as good (or better) as samples received from larger lots, so our partner in Guatemala decided to create a micro-region blend from various small producer’s coffees around the town of San Antonio Huista in the Huehuetenango region.
The Primavera Family lot was created from the crop of 10-15 small producers. From the extra income received for the high quality, our producers will have the opportunity to invest in their farms and in a couple of years, they may feature their coffee on their own.
Our microregion blend features Caturra, Catuai and Bourbon arabica varietals harvested on farms 1550-1650 metres above sea level in the vicinity of San Antonio Huista in the Huehuetenango region. Here are the names of some of the small producers who contributed their crop to this wonderful coffee: Julio Cano, Denin de Leon, Darwin Carillo, Yusvi and Oveidi Aguilar.
