Las Flores

COLOMBIA

Our coffee comes from a typical family business run by third-generation producer, Edilberto Vergara. His farm, Finca Las Flores lies at 1,700 metres above sea level near the municipality of San Isidro in the Department of Cauca. The Vergara family transitioned Finca Las Flores to specialty coffee production in 2017 with the goal of demonstrating their farm’s quality potential to the world. Our washed Pink Bourbon lot is a prime example of Edilberto’s high-quality approach.

Colombia is a country of contrasts. In addition to the geography and climate of the country, we are thinking here of the different cultures and traditions of each region. The accumulated knowledge of coffee growing, the combination of traditions and fresh ideas and the passionate love of work, all together give the uniqueness of Colombian coffees. Today, more than 563,000 families are engaged in coffee cultivation across the country, from the Ecuadorian border to the Caribbean, all across 16 departments. Small and large plantations on the slopes of the Andes, stretching for about 3,000 kilometres, typically run as family businesses. Probably this is the key to the success of Colombian coffee, as family values are paramount in the lives of Colombian people.
