Honduras is currently the seventh-largest coffee producer in the world. Although coffee cultivation has been around for a long time and the country has the climate and geographic conditions for producing high-quality coffee, growers have to face difficulties such as heavy rainfall and the spread of coffee leaf rust. Our coffee comes from a group of sixty small producers from the municipality of Masaguara in the Department of Intibuca. They are working together to implement specialty coffee practices of cultivation, picking and processing thus improving the overall quality of their coffee. Together they are investing in the infrastructure of their wet mills and drying facilities and putting profits back into their production. The group elects a chairman every two years, who is currently Wilmer Alexis Grau Montoya, a valued member of the local community and the owner of one of the largest farms in Intubuca with its own processing facility.
