After his Navy service, Eduardo returned to his father’s seven-hectare plantation to take over the family business. He spotted the plantation’s potential at a local cooperative's cupping, where he tasted his own coffee alongside several batches. Later, he and his father took coffee-tasting and roasting courses, taking quality control into their own hands. The farm now also grows special varieties such as Chiroso, which won first place in a local producer competition.
