Wangera Farm, established in 1963, is situated in Mukurwe-ini District, Nyeri County, at 1,650 meters above sea level, approximately 150 km from Nairobi. The three-hectare farm has been passed down through generations and is maintained sustainably with best practices like shade growing and mulching. Notably, the farm is exclusively planted with the renowned SL28 arabica variety. Experts say SL28 contributes to the distinct Kenyan flavor profile, reminiscent of blackcurrants, which is becoming increasingly rare due to climate change and the rising popularity of hybrid varieties.
