Finca Bella Vista has been owned by the family of Don Oliverio Lara López for many generations. The family has been growing coffee on the 3.5-hectare plantation for almost a hundred years, but thanks to Don Oliverio, the focus shifted to speciality coffee production. He is responsible for planting modern arabica varieties, such as Parainema, and improving processing methods. Parainema is a hybrid variety developed in Honduras, which, in addition to its compact size, high yield and resistance to leaf rust, can also achieve high cup scores (the 2015 Cup of Excellence was also won with Parainema).
