Orlando Antulio Martínez Samayoa is a third-generation coffee grower who lives near La Libertad in the Huehuetenango region. Orlando’s family started buying their land in 1985, and now boasts several plots and a wet mill. A decade ago, when the plant disease called coffee leaf rust spread like wildfire, Orlando realized that it was worth planting diverse Arabica varieties, so today, he grows several new, resistant, as well as exotic varieties such as Gesha and Pacamara. Our featured coffee is a farm blend (consisting of various varieties), sorted with the floating method and then dried on raised beds for about 22 days.
