Our current lot is a community lot, which brings together the work of around 50 small producers around the town of Buesaco in the department of Nariño. Our exporter has been working with farmers in the area of Buesaco since 2015, some of whom have only been growing coffee for 8-10 years. Even today, the countryside bears traces of illegal drug activity, but coffee offers a peaceful solution to everyone. In the Buesaco area, thanks to the hight elevation, Caturra variety is still grown for the most part. Caturra is less resistant to leaf rust, but on the other hand it offers a more complex cup profile than the disease-resistant local hybrid varieties.
