La Estancia
COLOMBIA
Finca La Estancia is located in the southernmost part of the Department of Nariño, nearly 2,000 meters above sea level. The farm is owned by Benjamín Dennis Ceron Botina, who bought the plantation with his father in 2012. Our coffee is a nano-lot made out exclusively of the Gesha varietal, which has also brought several regional recognitions to our producer.
Colombia is a country of contrasts. In addition to the geography and climate of the country, we are thinking here of the different cultures and traditions of each region. The accumulated knowledge of coffee growing, the combination of traditions and fresh ideas and the passionate love of work, all together give the uniqueness of Colombian coffees. Today, more than 563,000 families are engaged in coffee cultivation across the country, from the Ecuadorian border to the Caribbean, all across 16 departments. Small and large plantations on the slopes of the Andes, stretching for about 3,000 kilometres, typically run as family businesses. Probably this is the key to the success of Colombian coffee, as family values are paramount in the lives of Colombian people.
